GTWT: Dumbarton House Landscape

Did you know that Dumbarton House used to be an 8-acre urban farm worked by indentured and enslaved individuals? Join Dwane Starlin on this tour and walk the former borders and uses of the property to see how it changed over time. You will explore the flora, fauna, historic landscape and agricultural uses of this historic home in the heights of Georgetown. Although this neighborhood is now a densely populated area, from it’s early history Georgetown was a bustling port town with extensive farming production. Learn about this little known history of DC through the story of Dumabrton House!
What you need to know:
Meet at Dumbarton House’s Garden Gates at the corner of Q and 27th Streets, NW at 12:00pm sharp!
The two hour tour meets rain or shine.
Children 3 and younger are free, but must be in a stroller or carrier.
No pets allowed.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
Tour begins and ends at Dumbarton House.
