Mother’s Day Tea with Mrs. Bennet

You are cordially invited to join Mrs. Bennet for a spirited discussion of Austen’s works and enjoy a lively period appropriate tea while learning the history of taking tea in the Regency Era. The afternoon tea is complete with tea sandwiches, scones, and assorted desserts. Arrive early to tour the historical Federal period house museum.

Tables seat between 8 to 10 persons and seating is assigned. Please indicate during check out if you’d like to be seated with someone or if you have a group. Please indicate during check out if you or anyone in your party has a food allergy or dietary restriction.

Attire is casual. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

We will also be selling a limited number of pre-sale tickets to the Jane Austen Film Festival to Mother’s Day Tea attendees only.

History Bites: Tea Tasting

Enjoy one of the Regency Era’s favorite past times – afternoon tea! You are cordially invited to join Mrs. Bennett for a spirited discussion of Austen’s works and enjoy a lively period appropriate tea while learning the history of taking tea in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This afternoon tea is complete with tea sandwiches, scones, and assorted desserts. Arrive early to tour the historical Federal period house museum.


Attire is casual. Please contact us in advance if you have a food allergy or dietary restriction. Seating is assigned. Please let us know if you’d like to be seated with someone or if you have a group. Tables seat between 8-10. Tickets must be purchased in advance.


This event will be held in the museum’s Belle Vue ballroom. Please enter into the ballroom through the lower terrace.
Dumbarton House is handicapped accessible, and there is limited parking behind the garden at 27th & Q Streets, NW.

Yoga at Dumbarton House

Our popular outdoor summer yoga classes come inside for a special winter program! Enjoy a restorative yoga class led by local instructor, Lauren Jacobs. Bring your mat, stretch and relax! After yoga, join us for tea (including light snacks) and a tour of historic Dumbarton House.


Lauren Jacobs is an experienced registered yoga instructor and certified personal trainer with almost a decade of yoga teaching experience. In the DC area, she is known for her creative yet intelligently sequenced flow classes and aim to put a vibrant and playful yet relatable and disciplined spin on traditional yoga teachings.

Valentine Tea and Chocolate Tasting

Join us on February 13th for an early celebration of Valentine’s Day. Bring your friends, family or special someone to enjoy tea and chocolates at the historic Dumbarton House. Guests will not only enjoy sweets, but will also be treated to a brief history of chocolates and tea. Take home a lavender sache of your own creation for your valentine.
