Cancelled: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Outdoor Movie Night

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event is cancelled. Refunds will be issued to ticket holders.

Celebrate Halloween Regency style with this scary spin on a Jane Austen classic. Bring a picnic dinner and your best Halloween costume to take in this spooky movie on the lawn of Dumbarton House!

Why do we feature Jane Austen movies at Dumbarton House? The “Federal period” is the American equivalent of the “Regency period” in the United Kingdom. Despite the ocean separating us, cultural and political ties remained strong between the United States and Britain throughout the nineteenth century. Because of the overlap in time and context, we can use Austen’s stories to better understand our history and life in early Washington D.C.
